Thompson and Eels pair fined

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs forward Luke Thompson has been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee.

The charge stems from the Bulldogs round 15 loss to the Parramatta Eels at Bankwest Stadium.

Thompson has been hit with a Grade 1 dangerous contact charge for a hit on Eels five-eighth Dylan Brown in the 55th minute.

The charge carries a bass penalty fine of $1500, a fine of $1350 for an early guilty plea and $1800 if he challenges charge and fails.

The prop has until noon on Tuesday to enter a plea.

Meanwhile, Parramatta Eels duo Nathan Brown and Marata Niukore have been also been charged by the NRL Match Review Committee.

Niukore has been hit with a Grade 1 careless high tackle for a hit on Josh Jackson in the 35th minute and Nathan Brown was also hit with the same offence for his tackle on Tuipulotu Katoa in the 47th minute.

Both charges carry a $2,150 fine for an early guilty plea and $2,850 if they challenge for a downgrade and fail.
