Mounties slip to Eels in NSW Cup

Mount Pritchard have gone down to the Parramatta Eels a 22-6 at Bankwest Stadium in the Knock On Effect NSW Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The home side opened the scoring through Elie El-Zakhem in the 25th minute when Mounties coughed up the ball off a Jordan Rankin bomb to lead 6-0.

However the lead was short lived when Mounties five-eighth Lachlan Lewis put Jackson Topine through a hole 10 metres out from the try line to crash over. Kyle Flanagan successfully converting to draw level 6-6 after 32 minutes.

With only minutes left on the clock before halftime, the Eels went through under the posts when Wiremu Greig barged his way over the Mounties defence to head into the sheds 12-6 up at the break.

Solomone Naiduki slid over down the left edge after some great lead up work from centre Michael Oldfield to increase the Eel's lead to 18-6 after 67 minutes.

Moments later, a long range effort from Blake Ferguson from well within his half put the game to bed for the home side when he scooted down the right hand sideline for Parramatta to climb into the top 2 on the ladder.
