Tolman takes early plea - set to miss Bulldogs clash

Sharks prop Aiden Tolman has taken the early guilty plea on a crusher tackle charge and will miss the match against the Bulldogs this weekend.

In a blow for the hard-working veteran, Tolman misses the opportunity to come up against his old club in what shapes as a crucial match for both clubs.

Tolman was charged with a grade one crusher tackle on Knights forward Jacob Saifiti in the 26th minute of Friday's game, attracting 180 points and a one match suspension for an early plea, 240 points should be have decided to challenge and fail to have the charge dismissed at a judiciary hearing.

The Sharks after discussions with Tolman and on the video evidence available have accepted the charge and taken the early plea, with 80 carryover points to be added to any further charges.

The loss of Tolman comes as a blow to a Sharks side already light on troops due to a number of injury and suspension issues affecting the club.

Jack Williams was also charged in the Newcastle game for a lifting tackle on Josh King, however the grade one charge incurs a monetary penalty. Williams also accepted the charge with an early plea and will be fined $1,150.
