SG Ball season ends with loss to Raiders

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs SG Ball season has come to an end after a 44-10 defeat to the Canberra Raiders in the Elimination Final at HE Laybutt Field.

The Raiders ran in eight tries to two and after leading 20-10 at the break, Canberra ran in a further four second half tries to advance to week two of the finals.

Canberra opened the scoring after two minutes, before Canterbury hit back in the 11t minute off the back of some great defensive efforts to be rewarded with a try.

The Dogs added a second try five minutes later off the back of a brilliant shift to score within inches from the sideline and lead 10-4.

The Raiders then grabbed their second try in the 21st minute after going 80 metres to score through winger Xavier Savage.

From there, Canberra had all the momentum and scored six further tries to claim victory with Josh Billing bagging a hat-trick of tries and Trey Mooney scoring a double.
