Temora supports former players at the Bulldogs

The Bulldogs and Temora have a close link with both current player Joe Stimson and Head Coach Trent Barrett hailing from the Country town, in addition to being former St Gregory’s College old boys.

It was great, therefore, to see forty U13 and 15 youngsters from the Temora Dragons come along to support their heroes at the Bulldogs v Panthers game at Bankwest Stadium at the weekend.

The Dragons were in town to stay at famous rugby league nursey St Gregory’s College, in Campbelltown and play some trial games to tune them up for their upcoming season at home. They stayed in the school’s boarding facilities and played matches against their hosts’ development squads.

St Gregory’s has a proud association with the Bulldogs, with current players Adam Elliott and Dean Britt both having attended the school, in addition to current SG Ball players Charlie Lennon and Cameron Lawrence. In support of both of his former rugby league starting points, Joe Stimson attended the trial matches on the Sunday.

Temora has a significant history of producing successful rugby league players, with Trent Barrett, Todd Payten, Joe Stimson, Liam Martin, Zac Lomax, Peter Stimson, Mark Stimson, Steve Reardon, Ben Hampton and Ryan Hinchcliffe all hailing from the Country town.
