Windback Wednesday | Rhyse Martin

Rhyse Martin is currently plying his trade for the Leeds Rhinos in the Super League and it wasn't long ago where he was making a name for himself with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Bursting onto the NRL scene in 2018, Martin was earmarked as a core part of the Bulldogs future in a breakout season which saw him play 14 first-grade games and cement himself as one of the games best sharpshooters with 36/38 conversions.

A hat-trick of tries and 24-point haul in just his sixth NRL game suggested to many that Martin had a bright future in Rugby League, and it set the tone for a stunning season that saw him captain the premiership-winning Bulldogs side in the NSW Cup (now Canterbury Cup NSW)

The team asserted their dominance with an emphatic 42-18 victory over Redcliffe Dolphins in the State Championship just one week later, which capped a remarkable individual season for Martin and the club.

In his 38 appearances for the Bulldogs in the NSW Cup competition (now Canterbury Cup NSW), he produced 18 tries, 113 goals with an 83% success rate, over 4600m, 18 line-breaks and 100 tackle-breaks.

He will be a welcome addition back into the NRL if he ever returns from the Super League.
