Round 23, 2007 v Brisbane: Sherwin sinks the Broncos

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs halfback Brent Sherwin turned the knife on Brisbane's NRL finals ambitions with a field goal to lead his side to a 25-24 victory at Suncorp Stadium.

In team news, Willie Tonga replaced Andrew Emelio in the centres and Jon Green was added to the interchange bench.

The clash see-sawed for the entire 80 minutes before Sherwin nailed an ice-cool 33m field goal with three minutes remaining to decide the match.

Brisbane had levelled the scores 24-all with a benefit of the doubt try to teenage forward Dave Taylor in the 69th minute, before the Canterbury halfback slotted a field goal in the 77th minute after missing one a few minutes earlier

The game was locked at 12-all at half time.

Bulldogs five-eighth and Kiwi international Ben Roberts scored a double including a solo effort in the 59th minute that levelled the scores at 18-all.

The match was action packed from the kick off and packed with exciting attack and shuddering defence.
