Hopoate fined over high tackle, Ramien takes early plea

Bulldogs star Will Hopoate has been fined over a grade one careless high tackle on Cronulla centre Jackson Ferris in last week's trial game in Port Moresby.

Hopoate was fined $1150 after entering an early guilty plea.

Sharks recruit Jesse Ramien has been charged over an incident in the All Stars game but the Indigenous centre can escape suspension with an early guilty plea.

Ramien was handed a grade-one dangerous contact charge to the head/neck after a vigorous tackle on Maori fullback Kalyn Ponga.

He would receive a one-game ban if he were to unsuccessfully challenge the charge but will only accrue 75 demerit points with an early guilty plea.

Maori women's duo Botille Vette-Welsh and Kerehitina Matua were also charged with dangerous contact for incidents involving Rhiannon Revell-Blair and Caitlan Johnston respectively but will also not face bans if they accept the verdicts.
