Bulldogs 2020 Development squad

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce Tui Katoa, Matt Doorey, Tyrone Harding, James Roumanos and Sebastian Winters-Chang as the club's development players for the 2020 season.

Every club is allowed three to six development players each year outside of their top 30 NRL squad.

Development Players will train full-time with the NRL squad throughout the pre-season and regular season, but are not eligible to play first-grade until Round 17.

Tui Katoa and James Roumanos were both development players in 2019 and once again will be a part of the list heading into the new season.

Katoa, a local junior from the Chester Hill Hornets club is the brother of Cronulla Sharks winger Sione and in 2019 spent time with the club’s Canterbury Cup and Jersey Flegg teams.

The outside back represented NSW 20s and was a member of the Tongan World Nines squad.

Roumanos is in his second year at the club and like Katoa, he also spent time with the club’s Canterbury Cup and Jersey Flegg teams.

The forward played International Football this season having represented Lebanon against Fiji at Leichhardt Oval during the NRL’s Representative Round as well as at the World Nines Rugby League World Cup.

Doorey, a 2018 Australian schoolboy and NSW under 20s representative in 2019 has been elevated to the development list after arriving at the club midway through the 2018 season.

A back rower who played his junior football for the Cabramatta Club and had an outstanding year with the club’s jersey flegg side.

Harding arrived at Belmore from Wests Magpies in 2017 and spent two seasons with the club’s SG Ball team before appearing in the back end of 2019 for the Bulldogs under 20s side.

Schooled at John Terry Catholic High, the talented outside back is in his first full pre-season and is contracted with the club until the end of 2021.

Winters-Chang, an outside back is a product of Keebra Park State High and played his junior football for Logan Brothers.

A Queensland under 18s representative in 2018 and was a member of the club’s 2019 jersey flegg team.

All five players have started pre-season training in preparation for 2020.
