2020 preparations begin at Belmore

Preparations for the 2020 season have started today with 17 rookies walking through the gates of Belmore Sports Ground to begin the gruelling seven weeks of pre-season ahead of Christmas.

Top 30 squad members Jake Averillo and Isaiah Tass were joined by the club’s five development players Matt Doorey, Tyrone Harding, Tui Katoa, James Roumanos and Sebastian Winters-Chang, as well as 10 rookies who will get a taste of an NRL pre-season to start day one at Belmore.

Day one saw the players put through a heavy running session, including a 2km time trial and take part in a number of skill drills while under fatigue through the watchful eye of the Bulldogs Coaching Staff.

A team lunch came in the middle, before a gym and recovery session ended the opening day of the 2020 pre-season.

The return dates for the remaining players in the squad will be staggered with a group returning to training on November 13 and another group on the 20th.

New recruits Joe Stimson, Dean Britt and Sione Katoa will return on the 20th, while Will Hopoate, Kieran Foran and Corey Harawira-Naera will return in early December.
