Canterbury Cup and Jersey Flegg Finals Week 1 Team News

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Jersey Flegg and Canterbury Cup teams have been announced for the opening weekend of the NSWRL finals.

The two lower grades will play at Campbelltown Stadium on Sunday, September 8 with the reserve grade fixture kicking off at 1.10pm, followed by the under 20s at 5.15pm.

The Canterbury Cup side finished the regular season in fourth position and will face the St George Illawarra Dragons for the second time in eight days after going down to the minor premiers by two points in the final regular season game at Belmore Sports Ground.

The winner will advance to the preliminary final and have a week off, while there's a second chance next week for the defeated side.

Meanwhile, the Jersey Flegg team finished in sixth position on the ladder and will play the Newcastle Knights in an elimination final.

The Bulldogs come into the fixture following an impressive 42-18 win over Victoria and the previous meeting between the Dogs and Knights earlier in the season was a 32-20 win to Newcastle.
