Bulldogs participate in RunWest

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs last weekend took part in RunWest.

Dubbed the “City2Surf of the West”, RunWest is an annual community running festival that features a 12km fun run and a 4km family run option, both of which finished at West HQ (Rooty Hill RSL) Finish Line Festival.

The 12km fun run started at Eastern Creek Speedway and took participants through Sydney Zoo (which opens in 2019), while the Family 4km began at the Blacktown International Sports Park and was lined with thousands of families.

With a large supporter base in South West Sydney, the Bulldogs were the only NRL club to participate in RunWest and they were joined by the GWS Giants, Western Sydney Wanderers, Sydney Thunder and Two Blues Rugby on the day.

The Family 4km Start Line Festival gave the various sporting teams the chance to engage and interact with diverse and active families from all around Western Sydney, while Canterbury’s involvement aligned with the club’s Health & Wellness Community pillar to promote healthy lifestyles within the local community.

The Bulldogs membership and community teams were on hand at the event, as well as the Sapphires and the club mascots.

This year’s RunWest exceeded 20k participants.
