Under 20 and Under 18 Emerging squads named

The Queensland Rugby League has released the Under 18 and Under 20 Emerging Origin squads.

Twenty-four of the state’s most talented young players have been selected in the Under 20 squad.

Many were involved in the QRL Major Competitions this year with seven of the players named debuting in the Intrust Super Cup (highlighted below).

Representatives such Tanah Boyd (Souths Logan Magpies in 2018) and Ethan Bullemor (Norths Devils in 2018) played Under 18 Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup, Under 20 Hastings Deering Colts and Cup this past season; as well as gaining Queensland Representative honours in the Under 18 team.

A further 27 players have been selected in the Under 18 Emerging Origin squad to be coached by Kurt Richards.

A number of the talented players selected in this squad represented Queensland in the Under 16 age group this year with Gold Coast product Reece Walsh also playing in the Murri Under 16 team’s win over NSW in Mudgee.

Both camps run from December 12-15 in Brisbane and are supported by the Queensland Academy of Sport.

The players will be exposed to key elements of Queensland’s elite performance program with a focus on preparation, consistency and resilience.
