Isaiah Tass on Jersey Flegg finals berth

The Bulldogs Jersey Flegg side defeated the Parramatta Eels 30-18 at Ringrose Park on Sunday, to secure seventh position on the ladder.

It is the first time since 2013 that the Bulldogs under 20's Jersey Flegg side have qualified for finals footy.

Centre Isaiah Tass impressed in the game scoring two tries in the opening fifteen minutes to provide Canterbury with an important lead.

"The boys have been saying that they're in the finals for ages. It's a big stepping stone for us and it will help us go forward as a club."

Coach Brad (Hendo) Henderson brought Tass up from the Ron Massey Cup in Round 13 at Henson Park. It is his first year with the Bulldogs.

Tass is appreciative of Hendo providing direction for his transition from fullback to the centres.

"Moving back to the centres has helped me a lot. I haven't played there for a while but talking to him has helped me a lot. Hendo moved me there and gave me a couple of pointers", said Tass.

The focus going in to the game on Sunday was to stick to the game plan and communicate.

"All the talk all week was we weren't going to be intimidated by them. The start Just gave us that confidence to keep going and move forward," added Tass.

Finishing the season in seventh position, Canterbury will play the Parramatta Eels again next week in an Elimination Final at Panthers Stadium.
