Media Release On Behalf Of Lynne Anderson And The Bulldogs Football Club Board

Members of the Bulldogs Football Club are encouraged to attend and vote at the League Club elections between 11 am and 8 pm today, as otherwise the Football Club could lose control of its League Club and the funding that it needs to participate in the NRL premiership competition.

The Football Club had majority control of the board of the League Club by its 4 representatives on a board of 7 directors. But, at the Wednesday night Board meeting the directors of the League Club board led by George Peponis took away that control by the Football Club. This was achieved by altering the constitutional situation with the appointment of 2 extra directors on the board of the League Club resulting in the football club representatives now potentially being outvoted 5 to 4 on the League club.

This means that, if the League Club elections do not vote Peponis and his allies out of office at the League Club elections today, the Football Club representatives will be outvoted and lose control of the League Club board by 5 votes to 4 for the first time in its history.

Please stop this great betrayal of the Football Club and secure the financial future of the Football Club by attending and voting today.

You can do this by following the how to vote tickets of Football Club representatives Paul Dunn or John Ballesty which will be situated in the balloting area of the League Club today until 8 pm.

We believe the appointment of the 2 additional directors, without a constitutional amendment with members approval, is illegal but we are seeking legal advice on the matter and we will deal with that matter in due course
