The 2018 Festival of Indigenous Rugby League is taking place on Saturday February 10 at Redfern Oval.

The Festival of Indigenous Rugby Leaguerecognises the role Indigenous Australians play in Rugby League at a non-elite level.

The Festival provides an opportunity for players on the fringes of the NRL to showcase their skills and ability, whilst also celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

The event, being held at Redfern Oval on Saturday 10 February, will see a Double Header between Indigenous men’s (First Nations Goannas) and women’s (First Nations Gems) teams and NZ Maori teams. In addition, the Murri v Koori Interstate Challenge will be played as the curtain raiser to the Double Header.

Two Bulldogs Under 20s players have been selected to play for the Maori National squad. 

Reuben Taylor (Hooker) and Spike Teio (Prop) will play for New Zealand Maori squad on Saturday against First Nation Goannas at 5:40pm.
