What does this opportunity mean to you?

This opportunity is not only special for me, but my family as well. We spent some time here as a player and the place is very dear to us. We are really looking forward to getting to work here. I still want to make sure the club has its strong values with family, toughness and resilience. I don’ think the club has changed all that much, but we are really looking forward to taking the club forward from here.

Is the history and culture of the club important to you?

It is and every club has a history. Ours is a fantastic one with tradition. We have a lot of good players that have played in the past and they have been a part of everything this club is about. We are excited to see our ex-players come on board and making sure they’re a part of everything.

You were known for your toughness, is that what you’re going to bring to this playing group?

They’re a robust and tough playing group, but we’re going to get to work in the pre-season because we have a fair bit of work to get through. We have some new players coming in and we have also got the nucleus of a really good team. It’s really positive for the Bulldogs.

What will be your focus over the summer?

The biggest focus is making sure we get ourselves fit, get ourselves in good shape and make sure we know what we are doing with the ball. There’s a lot of hard work to get through, but I’m excited to get to work with the playing group.

A lot has changed since your playing days, but how does it feel to return to Belmore?

What the club has done at Belmore is fantastic. It’s a wonderful facility and as a playing group we want to make sure we are living up to the quality of the training facilities, because we have everything we need here.

How important are our members and fans?

We need our members and fans to get on board with us. We want their support and we want their passion to get the blue and white and our Bulldogs back to where they should be.
