The Bulldogs were leading 16-12 and then Warriors half-back Shaun Johnson broke clear and look certain to score before he was reined in by Josh Morris in the 76th minute.
The Warriors scored in the 74th minute through centre Ben Henry who finished off a backline movement that caught Bulldogs short on their right-hand side. Johnson added the extras to cut the lead to 16-12.
Soon after the restart Shaun Johnson broke free down the sideline and looked certain to score to tie the game up, but a flying effort from Josh Morris denied the halfback in a spectacular covering tackle from the centre.
