A low-scoring, tight affair saw the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs defeat the Wests Tigers 24-12 at Belmore Sports Ground.

Brad Abbey was the star for the Bulldogs, throwing two perfect cut-out passes for both of his wingers that led to tries, while Reimis Smith was heavily involved with two second-half tries.

The opening 20 minutes of the game was a stalemate, with neither side producing defiant scoring chances let alone crossing the line.

The scoreboard attendant was finally troubled thanks to a solo effort from Jordan Rankin, who sold a dummy to his right before bursting through the Bulldogs’ defence to score.
