Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs lock David Klemmer will miss the Easter Friday clash with the Rabbitohs with an ankle sprain suffered in last Friday night's victory over the Newcastle Knights.

The Australian representative is hopeful of returning for the Round Eight match-up with the Wests Tigers.

Klemmer's place in the starting line-up will go to Adam Elliott, who has added great energy from the bench in the early rounds.

In further changes, Brett Morris will start at full-back, while Kerrod Holland returns from a shoulder injury to take his place on the wing.

The Bulldogs have won two of the past five Good Friday clashes and aside from last year’s 42-12 demolition of the Rabbitohs, the average margin between the two sides has been 4.25 points.

Since 1999, the two teams have played each other 23 times at ANZ Stadium with the Bulldogs boasting a 15-8 record.

The match starts at 4pm.
