The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will look to open their 2017 campaign by sending a squad with an excellent mix of youth and experience to the Auckland Nines tournament starting this Saturday (February 4th).

International forwards David Klemmer and Sam Kasiano, will be joined in the tournament by star five-eighth Josh Reynolds, as the Bulldogs step out for the first time this season.

In addition to the trio, the squad is packed with promising young talent looking to showcase their ability on the big stage.

Talented centre, Kerrod Holland, who made his senior debut at the Nines last season, will look to impress after winning the Bulldogs' Rookie of the Year award for 2016. In addition, full back Brad Abbey, who is in his second year at the club, is a player with the ability to push for a First Grade spot in the coming months and will look to further his claims in Auckland.

Other notable selections in the squad include local juniors D'Rhys Miller and Marcelo Montoya. Second-rower Miller was the Bulldogs' 2016 NYC Player of the Year, while 20 year-old  Montoya took his game to a new level on the wing last season, scoring 19 tries in 18 games for the Bulldogs NYC side, in addition to notching a try in Fiji's 20-18 win at Apia Park, in the first ever official Test match in Samoa.
