New recruit Richie Kennar chats with bulldogs.com.au about his move to Belmore and the pre-season.

How have you found the pre-season?

The pre-season has been tough, but I’m enjoying it. When you have a group of players like we do here, it makes the training more enjoyable. You get to love pre-season.

How have you found the move from Melbourne?

It’s been tough moving away from family, but I’m still adjusting to life in Sydney.

PROFILE

Did Des play a part in the move?

I spoke with Des and he said there is an opportunity here for me. He said if I put my head down and work hard, there should be a reward for me in the season.

How have you found the playing group?

The boys have been welcoming and they have made my transition to the new surroundings much easier.

Is playing more NRL in 2017 a goal?

The reason I came here was to hopefully get more NRL games under my belt and become a consistent first grader. I want to put in the work over the pre-season and see what comes off the back of that in 2017.

Are you looking forward to the Christmas break?

I’m going back home to Melbourne and I will be spending time with family. I will be taking it easy over the break, but I will need to watch what I eat over the Christmas period.
