The Canterbury Bulldogs will kick-start their 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership campaign with a mouth watering match up with the Melbourne Storm at Belmore Oval on Friday 3 March.

The match has great significance in that it is the first of the season in the new 6pm Friday timeslot that has taken over from Monday night football.

Belmore Memberships Available NOW!

The Bulldogs have embraced the opportunity to start the season back at their spiritual home of Belmore, with the 6pm timeslot appealing to families who can enjoy a night at the football during daylight saving, before getting the kids home at a reasonable hour.

In addition the 6pm start will encourage fans to get an early ‘leave pass’ from their boss in order to get to the game early.

Plans are also underway to provide the maximum number of public transport opportunities to fans wanting to attend the match straight from work.

The 2015 match against the Melbourne Storm at Belmore marked the first time back at Belmore in almost 20 years and resulted in a 20-4 victory to the Bulldogs.

Belmore, will also play home to the Bulldogs in their first pre-season trial match when they take on the Penrith Panthers on Saturday 11 February (start time TBC).

The match will provide the Bulldogs with the chance to gain revenge on the team that knocked them out of the Finals last season and will see a feast of football played on the day with five matches to be played in NRL, NSW Cup, NYC, SG Ball and Harold Matthews.
