David Klemmer has been named the Dr. George Peponis, Bulldogs 2016 Player of the Year.

He played 22 matches this season with the big front rower also playing in all three state of origin matches for NSW.

He started the season coming off the interchange bench but by mid-way through the year he cemented a starting spot.

He carted the ball forward 366 times, making 3413m and in defence he made 540 tackles at an average of 25.7 per game.
