Newcastle Knights Coach Nathan Brown has named an 18-man squad for Saturday’s match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Hunter Stadium.

Star five-eight Jarrod Mullen has been named to return from a hamstring injury, however he will need to pass a fitness test later in the week.

“Jarrod is a possibility and trained well yesterday with his rehab,” Coach Nathan Brown said.

“They thought he was going to be a week or two tops but indications are at the minute he’s definitely a possibility.

“He will joining the team training tomorrow morning and if everything goes really well and he pulls through that, I’d think he’d be a likely starter but if there’s any doubt or hiccups we wouldn’t push it at all."

His inclusion in the side will see Jack Cogger return to the Intrust Super Premiership.

Sam Mataora is named in the starting line-up, replacing Josh King who misses the clash with the Bulldogs after sustaining an ankle injury in last weekend’s loss to the Manly Sea Eagles.

Daniel Saifiti moves into the starting front row with Korbin Sims shifting back to the back row.

Pat Mata’utia is added to an extended bench, while David Bhana drops to an extended bench.
