A 15-minute pyrotechnics display will highlight a pre-match entertainment spectacular ahead of Holden State of Origin I, at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday night.

Tickets are still available for the match, which will see Queensland captain Cameron Smith break Darren Lockyer’s record for most Origin appearances.

Fans are urged to take their seats prior to 7.30pm ahead of the pre-match entertainment, which will include a special "lights out" display.

The show will feature a 15-minute pyrotechnics display under darkness, while eight high-powered projectors will provide cutting edge vision and digital mapping technologies as they project a kaleidoscope of imagery.

"The intensity of the Game is always spectacular in State of Origin so our aim is to ensure we replicate that as part of our pre-match entertainment," NRL Head of Commercial Andrew Abdo said.

"All three State of Origins this year will feature spectacular light shows using cutting-edge technology to ensure the fan experience throughout the whole night reflects Origin’s standing as a world-class sporting event."

Erin Clare, who is currently starring in the musical We Will Rock You at The Star’s Sydney Lyric Theatre, will perform the National Anthem.

"As a proud New South Welshman from the Blue Mountains, I’m thrilled to be performing the national anthem at the State of Origin, and barracking for the Blues,” Erin said. “It’ll be a little different from singing the songs of Queen eight times a week in We Will Rock You. I can’t wait for Wednesday!"

All tickets include entry and return travel on Sydney Trains services, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses and regular Sydney Buses (STA) services.

Fans are strongly encouraged to leave the car at home and take advantage of the direct transport services in operation.

Sydney Trains services are running between Central and Olympic Park every 15 minutes between 5.20pm and 6.20pm and every eight minutes from 6:20pm to 9:30pm.

Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses start running between 3:45pm and 4:45pm depending on the route and arrive at Sydney Olympic Park from around 5:40pm. Services continue to arrive into Olympic Park until 7:50pm.
