After a slow start to the pre-season, young half Matt Frawley is enjoying the benefits now.

Frawley joined the club from the Canberra Raiders in 2015 and after a consistent year for the club’s New South Wales Cup side, the half has put a real focus on his fitness and strength as he tackles his second pre-season under the watchful eye of Des Hasler.

“The focus has been my fitness and strength,” Frawley said.

“I’m just trying to get an understanding of the footy side of things and learning the new structures because we are playing a little different this year.”

With the departure of Trent Hodkinson at season’s end, the 2016 pre-season has been a real good opportunity for Frawley to develop his game and work alongside the likes of Josh Reynolds and Moses Mbye.

“There is a big opportunity there for me with the departure of Trent, but I have to focus on my own role and play some good footy to see what opportunity lies ahead.

“I’m learning plenty of Moses and Grub (Josh Reynolds) and there looking to build their combination as I am with Dane Chisolm.

“I’m learning plenty from those two men, but the Coaching staff as well.”
