The highly anticipated return to Belmore Sports Ground moves a step closer with tickets to the Bulldogs Round 16 game against the Melbourne Storm going on sale to the general public this morning from 10am.

Bulldogs supporters have been lobbying for a return to the iconic venue since the last NRL premiership game was played there in 1998 and Chief Executive Raelene Castle says it will be a nostalgic occasion for everyone associated with the Club.

“We’re an 80 year old club with a really proud history and Belmore Sports Ground is home to so many of our greatest memories,” Castle said.

“Bringing a game back to Belmore will be an absolute highlight of our season and we want as many Bulldogs members and fans as possible to come along and enjoy the return to our spiritual home.”

Capacity for the ground will be capped at 20,000, and with 10,000 Bulldogs Members receiving entitlement access to the match through their Membership, and a further 1600 snapping up tickets during their priority booking period, fans planning on attending the game on Monday, 29 June are encouraged to purchase tickets early.

Luke Brailey who campaigned passionately for NRL matches has praised the club for being able to get games back to Belmore.

“Off the back of some extremely hard work from the club it is great to see that official NRL matches will be played at Belmore,” Brailey said. “For many people it is where they watched the Bulldogs growing up and to have the chance to do it again and share memories with friends and family is a truly great opportunity.”
