The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have dominated the Newcastle Knights 56-8 in their trial match at Belmore Sportsground.

The match saw and understrength Newcastle side take to the field, but it was also an opportunity for Bulldogs Coach Des Hasler to give a number of his established first graders some game time.

The first 40 was one way traffic with the boys in blue and white running in eight tries to lead 32-0 at half-time, leaving the crowd impressed with the display from the likes of Eastwood, Pritchard, Kasiano, Thompson, Jackson, Klemmer and young Moses Mbye

The second half continued on from the first and although most of the stars were rested for the second half, the younger generation and newest members to the full time squad in 2015 continued to play the type of rugby league that was produced in the first half.

The Knights were very understrength and did not feature a first grade player, but they never gave up and in the end the Bulldogs were to strong and ran away winners 56-8.

Final score: Bulldogs 56 Knights 8.
