The Bulldogs NYC side have today been defeated 34-14 by the Manly Sea-Eagles at ANZ Stadium.

After scoring the opening try it was then all the Sea-Eagles who after leading 22-4 at the break, went on to win comfortably.

Coach Scott Murray was able to go into the match with the same side that was named earlier in the week and gave them some stability that saw them cross first through back rower Shaun Lane. A shift to the right saw the rangy back rower break through one tackle and he was able to then reach out and score. The try couldn’t be converted with the Bulldogs out to a 4-nil lead after seven minutes.

Unfortunately for the Bulldogs it was all the Sea-Eagles for the remainder of the half. The visitors ran in four tries and with three of those being converted it they were able to go to the break with a 22-4 lead. Tries to Charlie Taylor, five-eighth Zach Nicholls, winger Luke Gosling and then Luke Garner gave them the upper hand.

The second half was more of a tighter affair with both sides running in two tries each. The Bulldogs went in through fullback Marcus Montoya and lock forward Brandon Luamanu. One of the tries was converted by the home side.

For the Sea-Eagles, it was Gosling who went in for his second of the night whilst Jamil Hopoate also went over. Both were converted by Garner which then gave the boys from the north side a 34-14.
