How did the players from Australia and Fiji perform in the semi final at the World Cup?

AUSTRALIA

1. Greg Inglis: A rather subdued performance from the stand-in fullback, making an effortless 173 metres and seven tackle breaks. 7

2. Brett Morris: Unfortunate to be playing outside the centre of attention, Jarryd Hayne, but did finish off his one and only opportunity. 6.5

3. Brent Tate: Bombed a couple of tries, but did manage to set one up. 6

4. Jarryd Hayne: Proved his first outing at centre wasn't a fluke, producing a five-star performance by personally accounting for 30 points via a hat trick and two try assists, including a Dean Whare-esque miracle ball as he was heading over the touchline. Unlucky not to be Man of the Match. 9.5

5. Darius Boyd: Combined well with left centre Brent Tate, adding two tries and three line breaks. 7.5

6. Johnathan Thurston: Yet another Man of the Match honour for the master conductor, but will be buoyed by an improved goalkicking performance that saw him finish with 24 points from a try and 10 goals from 11 attempts. 9

7. Cooper Cronk: Only had the one line break assist to his name, but it felt like he had 10 in what was another halfback exhibition. 7

8. Matthew Scott: Mr Reliable once again laid the foundation for a solid opening with one of the quietest 93 metre gains in his career. 7

9. Cameron Smith: Built himself up for the final by punching out his first 80-minute performance since the tournament-opener, leading all players with 30 tackles. 7.5

10. James Tamou: Channelled his inner Billy Slater by scoring off Melbourne's trademark outside-inside play. Didn't forget his own job though, running 111 metres. 7.5

11. Greg Bird: Came up with a key offload for Australia's second try, but was otherwise quiet, spending a lot of time on the bench. 6

12. Sam Thaiday: Arguably his best outing of the Cup, producing a vintage performance running off Cronk numerous times on that right edge for 134 metres. 7

13. Paul Gallen: Typically busy outing from the vice captain, making a game-high 19 runs and 168 metres, but also had the most errors (3) and equal-most penalties (2). 6.5

14. Daly Cherry-Evans: Came on for the final 20 minutes of garbage time and didn't do much. 5

15. Josh Papalii: A thundering hit on Kane Evans was a highlight, but that was soon overshadowed by a bullocking try minutes later. A real brute. 7

16. Andrew Fifita: Inspired by the presence of his family for the first time on tour, Fifita made 135 metres from 15 carries, broke six tackles and added his signature stampeding try. 7.5

17. Corey Parker: It wasn't the magic ball from last week, but his first touch was just one of a game-high six offloads the busy forward came up with, together with a 155-metre outing. 7.5

FIJI

1. Kevin Naiqama: Didn't get a lot of opportunities in a team camped in its own half for most of the game. 6.5

2. Marika Koroibete: Managed two offloads in first half but came off at the main break and didn't return. 5.5

3. Sisa Waqa: Looked helpless against the in-form Hayne, but a lot of people would. 5

4. Wes Naiqama: Got penalised for taking out Greg Bird, and that was about the only time we saw him. 4.5

5. Akuila Uate: Tried hard to get his team on the front foot, but the Kangaroos were always there in numbers. 6.5

6. Daryl Millard: Plagued by errors, missed tackles and rushed fifth tackle options, it was a tough outing for the Catalans centre. 3.5

7. Aaron Groom: Victim of an early Thurston dummy that led to first try, and was limited to a clearance kicker from there on in. 5

8. Ashton Sims: Came up with an early highlightable hit on club-mate James Tamou, before flooring Corey Parker with a late hit. Andrew Voss summed it up best: "He's a can of Sprite that's been shaken up." 6.5

9. James Storer: Copped an early hit and couldn't do much after that. 4

10. Petero Civoniceva: It was a rough way to finish, but the inspirational leader again led his team in metres and carries. The game will miss him. 7.5

11. Tariq Sims: There was quality in his hits and oomph in his tackles, and they've would've looked a lot better if they weren't deep in his own half. 6.5

12. Jayson Bukuya: Made a couple of decent runs and broke a few tackles, but that was it. 6

13. Eloni Vunaceke: Committed an obstruction when Fiji's first attack and his wayward offload seconds before halftime also resulted in Australia's sixth try of the first half. Has energy in bucketloads but lacked discipline in this one. 6

14. Apisai Koroisau: Introduced late in first half but struggled to impact the game in a team that kept committing errors and penalties. 5

15. Vitale Junior Roqica: Came on early but didn't do a lot. 5

16. Kane Evans: Made a handful of eye-catching surges for 75 metres. If anything, will walk away from this tournament showing he's got a big future. 6

17. Semi Radradra: Came on for Koroibete at halftime and rolled up his sleeves. 6
