The Bulldogs NYC side have this afternoon been defeated by the Panthers 46-22 at ANZ Stadium.

It was nine tries to four with the Panthers running away in the second half after scores were level at 16-all at the break.

The first half saw the young pups and the Bulldogs go toe to toe throughout the 40 minutes with scores level at 16-all at the break.

The Panthers drew first blood when they crossed for the opening points in the fourth minute of play. From a kick return the Panthers went 90m and with the ball going through four sets of hands it finished with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak who streaked away to score. Bryce Cartwright converted to put the Panthers out to a 6-nil lead.

Back to back penalties gave the Bulldogs good field position 12 minutes later and five-eighth Jaline Graham took advantage of some tiring defence and after palming the initial defender away with his left arm he slipped through to score. Templeman converted for scores to be level at 6-all.

The Panthers crossed for two tries in three minutes that extended their lead out to 16-6. They were through interchange forward Mitch Clark and the second through James Roberts. One of those were converted by Cartwright for a 16-6 lead.

The final eight minutes of the half were owned by the Bulldogs with winger Dylan Rintoul crossing in the 31st and then Lloyd Perrett going over in the 39th. Templeman could only convert one of the attempts with scores level at 16-all.

The second half saw the Panthers come out firing with the boys from the foot of the mountains crossing for two tries in the opening five minutes of the half. Roberts was the man to do the job with his speed causing too much of a problem for the Bulldogs as he went over to register his hat-trick. Cartwright couldnt convert either with the score now 2816 after 45 minutes.

It was all the Panthers in the second half with Watene-Zelezniak running 70m untouched to extend the Panthers lead. Cartwright had his radar on, on this occasion, with the score now 30-16.

The Bulldogs answered back with a try of their own to Adam Elliot which was converted by Templeman but from there it was all the Panthers with the visitors scoring three further tries to run away with a 46-22 victory.
