The Bulldogs Holden Cup side have registered their 10th victory of the season today after defeating the Melbourne Storm 26-22 at ANZ Stadium.

It was five tries to four after the Bulldogs went to the half-time break leading 8-4 and then managing to go on with the job.

Centre Ryan Wilson as a late withdrawal from the side due to injury with Mathew Fukofuka coming into the starting side and Jaline Graham being added to the interchange bench.

It took just six minutes for the home side to open the scoring. It was Captain Moses Mbye who crossed after putting on a big left-foot step and with only one hand put on him he went over to score. Patrick Templeman couldnt convert with the lead set at 4-nil early in the half.

In the 23rd minute the Bulldogs were able to extend the lead, this time through centre Dylan Rintoul. As we see so often, a penalty gave the young pups the chance to get into an attacking position and they used the chance to its fullest. It was swift hands out to the left through Mbye, on to Shaun Lane and then out to Rintoul with the winger going over in the north-west corner. Templeman couldnt convert from the sideline with the score remaining 8-nil.

Just prior to the half-time break the Storm earned a repeat set for the first time and they turned it into points. As the Bulldogs did, they also elected to head left and simply sent the ball through the hands out to winger Dane Change who ran the remaining 10m untouched to score in the south-east corner. Halfback Matt McGahan had the kicking duties but couldnt convert with the Bulldogs heading to the break leading 8-4 at the break.

The Storm opened the scoring in the second half off the back of a great 20/20 by Herschel Gideon and then a penalty which gave the visitors a great attacking chance from within the Bulldogs 10m zone. The men in purple worked the line and a ball inside sent interchange forward Matthew Lodge over to score. McGahan converted to put the Storm in front 10-8 after 45 minutes.

In a see-sawing match the Bulldogs crossed for their third of the afternoon through Matthew Fukofuka before the Storm answered back through McGahan. Both tries were converted with the score now 16-14 in favour of the Storm with

just over 20 minutes remaining.

The Bulldogs were then able to open up a generous lead after they crossed for two more tries. The first to Rintoul in the 64th minute and the second 10 minutes later to Templeman after a great break up the middle by Jaline Graham. Both were converted to take the home sides lead out to 26-16.

As the final siren was about to sound the Storm were able to cross for a consolation try to winger Richard Kennar. McGahan rushed the conversion and was successful leaving the score at 26-22 as the hooter sounded.
