The Bulldogs would today like to confirm that prop forward Martin Taupau will depart at seasons end to join the Wests Tigers.

Taupau has signed a three year contract with the Tigers that will see him play for the Club through until at least the end of season 2016.

Whilst the local junior was originally contracted to the Club until the end of season 2014, the Bulldogs have granted Taupau a release from next season giving the 23-year-old the opportunity to play more regular NRL.

Whilst we see Martin as a quality footballer and individual, the offer received from the Tigers was one that was hard to stand in the way of, Greenberg said. He is someone that is a valued member of our squad but he will receive greater opportunities to play at the highest level at the Tigers.

Martin will still be at the Club for the remainder of the year and we will see a lot more of him in the NRL throughout the season.
