After a most impressive start to the season for our NSW Cup side and being a consistent performer over these past 12 months, making his debut on the weekend was a reward Harlan Alaalatoa certainly deserved.

Having been 18th man last year on a handful occasions, his selection in the 17 last weekend was off the back of playing consistent footy in the NSW Cup, an attribute that Harlan has certainly applied to his game for a long period of time now. He has been a standout for the NSW Cup side for many years now and at the age of 25, he may have thought his time to play first grade may have past. But sometimes your time comes a little later than others. Many judges around the club, as well as many Members and fans would agree that Harlan deserved this opportunity.

Sometimes it can be hard for a player who has played NSW Cup for a period of time to ever wonder if they will get the opportunity to play first grade, but for Alaalatoa it has been one of playing consistently and working hard to continually perform and put the runs on the board to warrant his selection in first grade.

As a local junior and being apart of the Bulldogs system since 2008 it is sure a moment he will remember forever and no doubt a step towards bigger and better things to come.
