The Bulldogs Holden Cup side tonight will open their 2013 campaign when they take on the North Queensland Cowboys at Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford.

With kick-off at 5.15pm, the Andy Patmore Coached side will be looking for dry and still conditions which will make for some entertaining and open rugby league.

With players like John Sila, Moses Mbye and David Minute benifiting from a full pre-season as part of the NRL training squad, they are three players that Members and fans should keep an eye on not only in round one but as the season progresses.

The young Cowboys will travel to Gosford and will face similar battles that their Club faces every year as they travel far and wide to play their away matches. It is something that they will have to learn to combat as they continue their progression through the ranks as professional rugby league players.

The Bulldogs will go into the match as hot favourites with the young pups coming off the 2012 Minor premiership, whilst the Cowboys finished in 13th position last season.

The blue and whites have had mixed pre-season form but did trial a large number of players but Patmore has now settled on a squad and with the addition of those players that have been a part of the NRL program we should see a more settled side at Bluetongue Stadium on Saturday.
