Reni Maitua began playing junior rugby league for both the Coogee Randwick Wombats and Kensington United as well as brief stints at La Perouse United and the Maroubra Lions.

He first signed with the Bulldogs in 2002, and got his run in first grade in 2004, which saw him take part in the Memorable Grand Final victory against the Sydney Roosters.

In 2005, Maitua was selected to play for the City Origin side and in 2006 was then selected to represent Australia in the Rugby League Tri-Nations Tournament.

Maitua played for the Bulldogs from 2002-2008, when he left to join the Cronulla Sharks for season 2009 and then signed with the Parramatta Eels from seasons 2011 to 2013.

Season 2014 will see Reni return to where it all began, at the Bulldogs, having 161 first grade games under his belt.
