Born in Bega, New South Wales, Finucane played his junior football for the Bega Roosters before being signed by the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
He played for the Bulldogs' SG Ball team in 2009 with great success having won the SG Ball “Player of the Year” award before moving straight into the Bulldogs' Toyota Cup team in the same year.
Finucane played in the Toyota Cup for the Bulldogs from 2009 to 2011, playing over 60 games.
A two-time member of the Toyota Cup “Team of the Year”, the Bega product is studying Human Movement at ACPE.
Finucane showed that he has what it takes to be an NRL star, leading the pack in effort at training – Dale is a competitive athlete with great attention to detail and his work ethic saw him rise to the NRL squad in 2012.
In Round 13 of the 2012 NRL season he made his NRL debut for the Bulldogs against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Finucane starred in 14 more matches in 2012 with an 85% success rate, playing in the 2012 Grand Final in his debut year.
In his second year in first grade, he certainly continued to develop and improve his game from 2012, appearing in every game in 2013.
A great kid, and a young man who has a great attitude towards his football.
Dale was rewarded with a contract extension, which will see him here until the end of 2016.
