Bulldogs Celebrate the 2023 Junior League Season

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have marked another highly successful junior league season with a memorable evening of recognition and celebration.

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have marked another highly successful junior league season with a memorable evening of recognition and celebration.

The presentation night, which was held at the Paragon Room at Canterbury League Club on Thursday, served as a night of collective celebration, bringing together our twelve Canterbury-Bankstown District Junior Rugby League (CBDJRL) clubs and wider Football Club.

With more than 200 representatives, guests, and well-wishers in attendance, the remarkable contributions of players, staff, volunteers, and officials to the 2023 season were acknowledged, with several clubs and officials picking up awards.

Moorebank Rams earned the night's most prestigious award in the 2023 Club of the Year Award, while Lubna Eter (Bankstown Sports), Robyn Graham (Moorebank Rams) and Khalil Kouayder (Greenacre Tigers) were all recognised for their very special contributions to the game at a volunteer level.

Amongst the guests to applaud the award recipients were the likes of the Mayor of Bankstown, Bilal El-Hayek, State Member for East Hills, Kylie Wilkinson, corporate partners and sponsors from both the Bulldogs junior and senior divisions, Football Club staff, executives, and Directors, including Chair John Khoury and CEO Aaron Warburton. The presence of Life Members of the Junior League, Board Members of Canterbury League Club, and executive members of the Canterbury Referee's Association added further prestige to the occasion.

While the primary focus of the awards night was to honour the contributions made by clubs and individuals to the CBDJRL season, four clubs were singled out for their special contribution to the Football Club. Milperra Colts, Bankstown Bulls, Bankstown Sports, and Berala Bears were each awarded $500 per year that 2023 NRL debutants, Paul Alamoti and Khaled Rajab played with them as juniors.

The support recognising the invaluable role that junior league clubs play in providing opportunities for the next generation of football talent in the Canterbury-Bankstown area.

Adding to the significance of that recognition, Bulldogs legends Josh Reynolds and Hazem El Masri kindly shared heartfelt memories of their own junior league experiences, highlighting how formative those years can be in shaping aspiring players' rugby league careers.

The role that our CBDJRL clubs and their participants play in shaping the future of the Bulldogs is significant, and it is with this in mind, that the Bulldogs wholeheartedly thank everyone for their efforts in delivering another fantastic season.

The Bulldogs proudly congratulate the following CBDJRL 2023 Award Winners:
