The Bulldogs would like to thank St Helens Rugby Football Club for coming out to Belmore and wish them luck for the rest of their trip to Australia.

After receiving a tour of our facilities on Friday from our recruitment manager Warren McDonnell, St Helens Academy played the Bulldogs, SG Ball side on Saturday afternoon at Peter Moore Field (behind Belmore).

After a strong battle in familiar conditions for the visitors, St Helens were victorious in their first game on Australian shores, defeating our SG Ball side 12-10.

St Helens then played a half against a team of players trialing for our Ball and NYC teams, with the visitors winning comfortably by 24-0.

St Helens awarded three of our players awards at the conclusion of the game for the first half of the SG Ball match:

Best n fairest: Jake Averillo

Best Forward: Justin Filo

Best Back: Kolin Saukuru
