Marcelo Montoya has committed to the Canterbury- Bankstown Bulldogs after re-signing with the club for a further three seasons.

The 21-year-old made his NRL debut this season for the Bulldogs in round three and has played in eight games contributing with four tries, 715 run metres and five line-breaks for the club.

Following an impressive 18 months, the local junior he is grateful to have secured his future at the club for a further three seasons.

“I’m very thankful to have re-signed with the club. It’s obviously a tough time for the boys, but as players you need to understand it’s our careers and for me it was just an awesome time for me to sign,” said Montoya.  

Bulldogs Chief Executive Raelene Castle was delighted at being able to re-sign the popular winger: "Marcelo has proven his ability to play at the NRL level during the 2017 season and we will see him go from strength to strength over the next 3 years. It is always a great story when a local junior comes through the ranks and his personality and professionalism fits very well with the Bulldogs culture. I know that all Bulldogs fans will be pleased to see him continue to wear the Blue and White."

Fellow local junior Josh Reynolds will make his return for the Bulldogs after suffering a hamstring injury and being sidelined since round nine.

The return of the energetic five-eighth will be a huge boost for the side.

“Everyone knows what Josh Reynolds brings. His energy, his enthusiasm is going to be a massive boost for us this week and I’m just looking forward to playing with him again,” added Montoya.
