After a slow start to the season, the Bulldogs have climbed into the top eight off the back of three straight victories.
The season began with three losses from the opening four games, including a 36 nil defeat to the Manly Sea Eagles in Round four.
Since then, however, the Bulldogs have managed to string together three wins in a row and front row forward Sam Kasiano believes the loss against Manly has brought the team closer.
“Our first two games of the season I thought we played good, but it was just that one game. It brought the boys closer and you can see it on the field. We have put together three wins in a row, but we need to keep that momentum going into the next game,” Kasiano said.
Throughout the past three weeks, the Bulldogs fans have seen the emergence of young half Matt Frawley who has been a revelation in the first three games of his NRL career. The style he brings has also taken pressure off Josh Reynolds and allowed the popular five-eighth to play his natural game.
“He has been awesome for us. He is good under pressure and good at directing us around the park. Having Matt allows Josh to play his own game. He can do anything and Frawley just controls the game. [Josh] Reynolds is the ultimate Bulldog. I can’t say much more than that. I just love playing alongside him,” added Kasiano.
Sam will take his place on the interchange bench this week when the Bulldogs clash with the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium on Sunday afternoon at 4pm.
