The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are proud to today announce a continuation of the partnership that will see Brydens Lawyers sponsor 500 community memberships for families in their local area, after an evaluation conducted by Western Sydney University found evidence of positive social impact.
The initiative was prompted after community consultation identified that fostering a sense of social inclusion was one of the most effective ways the Bulldogs could use their profile to make a meaningful difference to the communities they represent.
“Football clubs have a tremendous ability to bring people together, to make them feel part of a community and to create a sense of belonging,” said Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle.
“It is our hope that these memberships will provide a path for some of our area's most disadvantaged families, and others dealing with challenging circumstances, to develop support networks, forge friendships and to feel like a valued part of our community.
“It’s an inspiring gesture and re-commitment from our Membership partner Brydens Lawyers. Their Principal, Lee Hagipantelis, attended Belmore South Primary School and fundamentally understands the challenges facing some of the families in our community and did not hesitate to get involved when we approached them to sponsor this programme.”
The Principal of Brydens Lawyers, Mr Lee Hagipantelis was equally as excited with the partnership:“Brydens Lawyers, as the membership partner for the Bulldogs, is uniquely positioned to engage with the Bulldogs in all community and membership programs which primarily involves the provision of expert legal advice and representation to all Bulldogs members and fans.
Brydens Lawyers was honoured to avail itself of the opportunity to provide memberships for families from disadvantaged backgrounds and commends the Bulldogs on it’s commitment to such inclusive social programs. The Bulldogs will work in consultation with local service providers, councils, schools and junior rugby league clubs to identify families who may benefit from an involvement with the Club.
