Bulldogs halfback Moses Mbye has shut down rumours in regards to missing the game on Friday night due to injury.

Following all precautionary measures after a bump to his elbow in the final trial match against the Storm, he has been cleared by the club medical staff after it was revealed he had only suffered some bruising to the bone.

“I’m all good to go. I copped a bump in the trial, but it was more precautionary then anything. I had scans and they came back all good,” said Mbye.

“There’s a little bit of bruising, but there’s no damage structurally to the elbow. I’ve been training and I’ll be playing this weekend.”

Mbye has been named as the starting halfback for Friday night’s game against the Melbourne Storm. Mbye’s inclusion is crucial after having a huge impact last season for the Bulldogs. He clocked up the most try assists (15) and most line break assists (15) for the team as well as contributing nine tries and 32 conversions over the season.

“It’s going to be a tough game and any week coming up against Melbourne it’s a tough game they’re very clinical and grand final contenders last year so they’ll be out here to challenge us for sure,” admitted Mbye.

“Me and Josh [Reynolds] have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time together over the summer… to work on our combination which we’ve really enjoyed together. We’re a big part of the game plan that’s for sure, that involves getting our hands on the ball a lot more, a little bit more than last year.”
