Tyrone Phillips has recently attained his Certificate III & IV in fitness.

During the 2016 season, Tyrone spent one night a week at Rugby League Central working towards achieving his qualifications in Fitness.

The course went for a period of 20 weeks and was hosted by Leon Keir from ONE Wellbeing.

The course is designed for elite athletes to utilise their prior knowledge of fitness regimes and implement them into their work.

The Certificate three and four cover's areas such as Apply First Aid, how to instruct and monitor fitness programs, planning a small business and how to establish a franchise.

“The flexibility of the course helped a lot as it allowed me to be able to finish training for the day and attend class at night. The providers of the course ensured I did not fall behind and really made the process as easy as possible,” Phillips said.

Tyrone is also about to begin a Certificate IV in Business and hopes to one day be able to put both his knowledge attained from Rugby League and his study into practice by opening his own gym.
