Becoming an NRL club member is the best way to support the team you love, and with the 2017 NRL season fast approaching, here are NRL.com's top 10 reasons to become an NRL club member.

10. The membership packs

Who doesn't love free stuff? A combination of caps, lanyards, key rings, stubby holders, and a whole lot more members only merchandise will be included in your NRL club membership. Your club member's cap with "2017" emblazoned on it will be a collector's item when they win the 2017 Telstra Premiership Grand Final. Premium inclusions on some Sea Eagles member packages include a 2017 member cooler bag and 2017 sports bottle. Sharks membership packs allow you to choose between a cap, beanie or scarf. Time to jump on the premiers' bandwagon!

9. Memberships cater for the kids... and babies… and pets!

Women, men, families, children and pets alike can all become NRL club members. Every club offers memberships that cater for all walks of life, just another advantage that comes with being a rugby league fan and member. There's a reason why the Broncos are one of the membership heavyweights in the NRL – there are just so many options. A Cowboys' child membership gives the child a birthday card signed by the 2017 team and the chance to lead the team out at a home game. All Warriors memberships include an invitation to attend a junior footy clinic, invitations to meet the team at members' only events and pre and post-match access to the Members' Clubroom at Mt Smart Stadium.

8. Flexible ways to show your admiration

Even if you can't get to every single game, most clubs have an option to sign up and see a selection of games of your choosing. The Melbourne Storm offer 4 Game memberships, Flexi 10 Game Memberships, and Flexi 20 Game Memberships, just to name a few. The Raiders have flexible membership packages for two, four or six home games, or an away flexi membership. Raiders members also have a chance to win a share of $1 million in their members season predictor jackpot and members cash jackpot draws.

7. Show your support from afar

Can't make it to the games during the season? No problem. You can still enjoy most of the benefits of being a club member through non-ticketed options. Every club has different levels of non-ticketed memberships which allow members to support their club without a big financial outlay. The Gold Coast Titans have a range of non-ticketed options – including a supporter membership which will only cost you $25, or $70 for a family of four! This membership also gets you a discount on home fixture ticket purchases.

6. Exclusive access to club events

Another perk of becoming an NRL club member is that members get exclusive access to meet and greet players at all kinds of events. A Panthers VIP membership will put you front and centre in your own personal team photo, get you to a BBQ breakfast with the Panthers top 25 squad and treat you to an exclusive night with the coaches where you will see first-hand what preparation the team goes through before a match. A Wests Tigers Elite Membership allows you and three guests to watch the team warm-up from the sideline and participate in the guard of honour for one match of your choice, post-match access to the dressing room for you and one guest to one match of your choice, two tickets to the Elite Members function, the opportunity to sit in the players' enclosure at ANZ Stadium for one match of your choice and other exclusive member experiences.

5. Who doesn't love discounts?

As a club member you are given a host of discounts on a range of things: from discounts on parking to merchandise and other benefits. Rabbitohs members get 10 per cent off at the Rabbitohs Megastore, five per cent off food and beverages at ANZ Stadium and can add an ANZ Stadium P1 parking pass to their membership at a special rate of $200 for the full season. Bulldogs members get 15 per cent off at the Bulldogs Teamstore and express entry through members only turnstiles at ANZ Stadium. Roosters club members get a 10 per cent discount on merchandise, 20 per cent off additional match tickets, and a 12 month membership to Easts Leagues Club.

4. Get your club's news first

Members receive breaking news and major announcements from their club first. From player signings, club updates and all the big news that happens during the course of an NRL season, members are given the news first. This is a great way to become truly entrenched with your team as you will be constantly updated with the ins and outs of the business. Become an NRL club member and get on the members mailing list to hear your club's news first. Along with receiving their "Red V e-Newsletters", Dragons members can submit questions to the Dragons Den online to be answered by Dragons management, coaching staff and players. Dragons members also receive season preview and Annual Year in Review e-Magazines as part of their club memberships.

3. Guarantee your seat at the big games

Members get given priority access for tickets to the big games, finals and representative fixtures. You will get first shot at securing your seats for the most sought-after games on the calendar thanks to exclusive buying windows before the tickets go on sale to the general public. This includes State of Origin tickets, Kangaroos Test match tickets and NRL Finals tickets. At the Knights in 2017 you can not only claim your own seat, but also your very own patch of Sacred Ground as part of Newcastle's 30th year in the competition. Knights Sacred Ground packages start from just $30.

2. Save money on NRL tickets

We've already covered that an NRL club membership entitles you to discounts on everything from jerseys and merchandise to parking and other items. But did you know that a club membership will save you enough money from buying tickets to NRL games to actually pay for next year's membership? Not only do members get first crack at tickets for major events, they also get them cheaper. As an example, all Eels members get a 20 per cent discount on ANZ Stadium general admission home game tickets and a 15 per cent discount on ANZ Stadium reserved seat home game tickets. Many clubs also have ticket discounts for family and friends of members. That makes it cheaper to take your mates and loved ones to the game you love. Sign them up as well!

1. Support your team throughout the season

The best benefit of becoming a ticketed NRL club member is that you get to see your team play live at the ground and support them through all the highs and lows of an NRL Telstra Premiership season. It is the greatest part of becoming a member. You are guaranteed a seat at your stadium to see your favourite players and your team play the greatest game of all. You will become just as much a part of the club as the 17 players who take the field. It doesn't get much better than that.
