New recruit Zac Woolford catches up with bulldogs.com.au to discuss his move and the pre-season.

How have you found the pre-season?

It’s been tough like all pre-seasons are, but there’s a really good vibe around the place and a lot of the older boys are giving me a few tips to help me get through it. I’m really enjoying my time at the club.

What convinced you to come to the Bulldogs?

I thought it would be a good change for me. The club has a good forward pack and a good coaching staff who have a plan for me. It seemed like a really good place for me to come to, develop my game and progress my career.

Zac's Stats and Highlights

What did you make of your performance in 2016?

I was really happy with my season. I knew going into 2016, it was a big year for me. I needed to impress to progress in my career.

What have you enjoyed about the summer at Belmore so far?

The team comradery has been good. The boys have been welcoming and they’ve showed me the ropes. I have just loved being a part of a full-time squad.

What does Des expect from you?

He has been big on seeing how I am going and I am coping with the workload. It’s obviously tough going into your first straight out of the NYC, but he’s just making sure I’m doing everything right in regards to having my body right through the summer.

Being a son of a former great (Simon Woolford), does dad give you a few tips?

He calls me just about every day when I finish training and always ask how I’m going. It’s been good to have dad along the journey and he has kept me level headed throughout my career.
