David Penna has joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs as Assistant Coach, replacing Kelly Egan who has left the club to take up the role of Football Manager with the Wests Tigers.

Penna, played at Parramatta and Souths during a 134 match First Grade career between 1990 and 2000.

He joins the Bulldogs with a wealth of experience in the NRL, having been Assistant Coach at Manly for four years, before moving to the Rabbitohs, where he acted as NYC Head Coach last season.

Penna, who has also been the Assistant Coach to the Samoan team for the past four years, was delighted to be joining the Bulldogs.

"I'm really excited at joining the Bulldogs. I love being here and it has one of the best overall setups I have seen in club football," Penna said.

"I am looking forward to working with Des. He is a professional who leaves no stone unturned in his preparation and I am excited about what lies ahead this season."
