Each year, a number of young rugby league talent look to make the step up from the U/20’s to full-time training and extended NRL squads over the summer in the hope of becoming a first grade player.

In 2017, nine players from the Bulldogs 2016 NYC side will look to take that step.

Young half Adam Keighran will once again join the NRL squad over the summer for the 2017 pre-season, following on from his time with the squad during 2016.

Keighran joined the NRL squad for the pre-season in 2016 after finishing the 2015 season as an Australian Schoolboy.

Hailing from the Central Coast of NSW, the Toukley Hawk junior has played in both the clubs Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball sides, captaining the 2015 side.

A robust five eighth who stands at 183cm and weighs in at 91kg is a graduate of the club’s high performance youth program and in 2016 played 15 games for the NYC side.

The talented number six with an impressive left foot kicking game enjoyed a great combination in 2016 with back rower and NYC player of the year D’Rhys Miller.

The opportunity to train full-time over the summer and work alongside the likes of Josh Reynolds and Moses Mbye will once again give Keighran an opportunity to grow and develop as a player.

Away from the field, Adam works part-time as a Teachers’ Aide at Banksia Road Public School and is studying a Diploma of Arts (Pathway to Teaching) at The College, Western Sydney University.
