Read more quotes from Wednesday morning’s press conference as Des Halser discusses the Sam Kasiano suspension, the upcoming clash with the Cowboys at Belmore and the injury surrounding Sam Perrett.

on Sam Kasiano’s charge…

There was probably a fight in there and there were areas we could have contested or maybe gone for a downgrade, but there was no middle ground and it was either one or three. It was too risky.

on losing Sam Kasiano…

We will lose impact and there’s no denying that fact. A player will come in and will fill the role and we’ll get on with the job.

on playing at Belmore…

It’s something that we can really use in our favour. It’s such a great ground for that purpose and with a full crowd, hoping the weather stays favourable, a big crowd here at Belmore will be back to those rare suburban days which are pretty special.

on losing to Canberra at Belmore…

Canberra played well and we don’t like losing, but the game here at Belmore tomorrow will be a good attraction.

on Sam Perrett’s neck injury…

It’s an ongoing issue for us and we’re really concerned at the moment. It’s more a neurological thing and we are just monitoring that week to week. We’ve still got two more weeks, we’ve still got time and it’s something we are working on daily. No doubt, I guess it’ll be playing on Sam’s mind a bit as well, but it’s something I’m pretty sure we can come to terms with.
